Belize's comprehensive cybercrime legislation enacted in 2020, aligned with substantive and procedural provisions of the Budapest Convention. Creates offences of: illegal access (Art. 3), illegal access to computer data (Art. 4), illegal data interference (Art. 5), illegal system interference (Art. 6), illegal devices and codes (Art. 7), computer-related forgery (Art. 8), identity-related fraud (Art. 9), identity-related theft (Art. 10), child luring (Art. 11), publication of private images (Art. 12), harassment via computer system (Art. 15), copyright infringement (Art. 16). Service providers must store traffic data and subscriber information (Art. 14). Police Information Technology and Cyber Unit (PITCU) manages investigations.
